Whilst infra-red heating can help in greenhouses, on its own it will create too much top heat and not enough circulated heat and air.

  Our range of greenhouse heaters combine heat and airflow to create just the right environment for plants to grow whilst minimising hot and cold spots.


To keep a greenhouse frost-free, the temperature must remain above 0C even in the corners. If the current of air does not reach into the corners, the temperature on the heater has to be set much higher than it needs to be.  What then happens is that a large proportion of the warmth goes up into the gable of the greenhouse, where it is not needed, while the corners may still dip down to minus temperatures.  This wastes heat and there may be a significant temperature difference between when the heater switches on and off, especially with cheaper thermostats.


Heating and Ventilation in One

Why have a heater with a high ventilation rate?

The ventilation rate is set at about 3.5 times higher than with conventional fan heaters. There are three reasons for this:

1. Because the air is always circulating rapidly, the input temperature can be low. This means there is no drying of the air or of foliage even close to where the air is coming in.

2. Because of the high ventilation rate, all the air is circulated. An even temperature is achieved throughout the greenhouse and high temperature differences (hot at the top and cold at the bottom) are prevented.

3. This keeps the heating within a reasonable temperature range and reduces drops in temperature due to heat loss to the outside.

The fan setting
By using the fan setting, all the air in the greenhouse can be circulated even in the summer season. With the windows open and the fan on, the greenhouse can be cooled down. Air circulation in the summer is also necessary for the pollination of many flowers.

Low-maintenance ball bearings, metal blades, a built-in thermostat, extra anti-corrosion protection and an earth wire - these are the features that make this fan a durable, long term investment.


The Nevada

The Nevada distributes heat evenly through your greenhouse whatever the weather! Helps combat condensation. 2.25kW or 3kW output models.

The Nevada system of air circulation heating is the best way of ensuring efficient heating for your greenhouse. The warm air is drawn in through a device mounted as high as possible in the roof ridge and then distributed through the greenhouse via a perforated tube. This ensures effective air circulation.

In the greenhouse in winter, the UV-resistant perforated tube is laid along the glass, so you can keep panes free of condensation.

In summer, the device can be used for air-conditioning in the greenhouse, by using the tube to blow the hot air outside.

The heating system also ensures effective air circulation in the greenhouse, so that, for example, diseases of tropical plants such as orchids or vegetables, particularly on tomatoes and cucumbers, can be avoided. The constant circulation of the air also makes for more successful pollination.

The sturdy, drip-proof, plastic cased heater has been designed for safe operation. With 1kW and 2kW setting, the heater has a unique dual operation thermostat, with a temperature range from a frost stat setting of 5C up to 40C (40C - 104F) and an indicator light to show when power is being consumed.

In winter, for heating purposes the thermostat is set to trigger heat when the temperature falls below a set temperature. The fan of the heater can be set either to switch off with the heating elements or to run continuously.

In summer for cooling purposes the thermostat can be set to run the fans to circulate the air and aid cooling when temperatures climb above a set temperature. This compact heater is powerful enough to heat areas up to 8ft x 10ft.
